In addition to being a Community Partner, Fifth Third Bank is the presenting sponsor of the 25K. In 1977, Old Kent Bank partnered with the Grand Rapids Track Club to bring the 25K to downtown Grand Rapids, the second Saturday in May, 1978.

Fifth Third Bank (formerly Old Kent Bank) remains the 25K sponsor who started the River Bank Run with this distance 45 years ago!!
