The housing crisis is real for individuals with autism, and recent times are making the mountain an almost impossible climb. Please consider sharing $5, $10 or more to help Autism Housing Pathways create lifelong, secure and supportive housing solutions for more individuals like Will and Jeff. Any amount, no matter how small, will help.
Parents don't live forever, and only 12 to 15 percent of adults with autism who are eligible for residential supports, get them. Draconian cuts to funding and the "autism bubble" means even more adults with autism will need housing supports. With New England's high costs and limited supply, families are struggling to make it happen before a parent dies, becomes ill or unable to orchestrate this massive task before their kids' own aging issues take hold. All of us are used to climbing mountains, but this one is daunting, hard, and for many, impossible.
Autism Housing Pathways is a pioneering, parent-founded nonprofit that has personally benefitted Will, Jeff and our family. Help me help AHP fulfill its mission to help families to find or create sustainable, supported, self-directed housing with the quality of life they deserve.
