Two days. Two hundred miles. One mission. On April 17 and 18th, I will be participating in the Delmarva Dash Relay to raise funds for childhood cancer research at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children. This adventure will might be tough, but will not compare to the harsh treatments and numerous days in the hospital kids with cancer have to endure.
Eliot Hayes and Cole Willey, both cancer survivors, will be my inspiration to get through those tough miles, cold winds and driving in a van with a bunch of smelly runners! Eliot and Cole who were both teenagers when they were told they had cancer. Unlike their friends, Cole had to postpone running on the track team and Eliot had to delay his college acceptance to undergo treatment. I’ll run for kids that can’t.
Our team goal is to raise $10,000 and we need all the friends, kids and family to join us. My hope is that we will find cures and better treatments so they live long and healthy lives.
