MURCA Semper Fi Project

The Semper Fi Project is the Marine UltraRunners Club of America (MURCA)'s fundraising project for 2018. The year-long effort comprises multiple fundraising events to raise money and awareness for the Semper Fi Fund. MURCAns are located worldwide and will conduct individual and group fundraising efforts supporting The MURCA Semper Fi Project. MURCA members use their passion for running to help take care of brothers and sisters-in-arms through the Semper Fi Fund. Their efforts will leverage social media, local communities, friends, and families, and will include running events, pledges and contributions for races, auctions, booster sales, raffles, and other creative ways to raise money and awareness. The latest MURCA fundraiser is the Run-Burp Challenge in Kansas City, MO on September 15th, 2018 at Liberty Memorial. 

More about MURCA: MURCA is an exclusive group of ultrarunners who have the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor embedded in our soul. As a small fraction of the few, the proud, we, as Marines, know and appreciate the physical and mental suffering found inside the pain cave and draw from a deep well of fortitude to push beyond perceived limitations. We don’t fit the mold of typical ultrarunners, preferring to preserve the ability to fight our way out of a late night bar scene gone awry. MURCAns envision a future in which warriors with both visible and invisible scars join together on the trails for camaraderie and healing by setting a goal and working together to grow and improve.
