FAQ

Q. Are baby joggers/strollers allowed? Do kids in joggers/strollers need to be registered for the 5K?
A. Yes, but please be aware and stay clear of other runners. Young kids in joggers/strollers do not need to be registered for the 5K.

Q: Can my dog run with me?
A: Yes, well behaved dogs are welcome as long as they are on a leash and under control of their owners. No retractable leashes, please be aware and stay clear of other runners.

Q. What is in the race packet?
A. The race packet includes your bib and race shirt. Details can be found on the PACKET PICKUP page.

Q. Can I register at packet pickup? What about on race day? Do you accept credit cards at packet pick up and/or on race day?
A. All registrations are done online and may be done using a personal phone at packet pickup and on race day. The system updates immediately and we will be able to then check you in. However, the process is easier on a larger device and registering earlier helps make sure you get a shirt and may make you eligible for an early registration discount.

Q. Can I pick up my friend’s packet?
A. Yes you can. You only need the name they registered under to do so. Be sure to coordinate, we have had situations where someone picked up a packet for another and the original runner also showed up asking for their packet.

Q. Is there race day packet pick-up?
A. Official packet pickup schedule is on the PACKET PICKUP page. We highly recommend packet pickup be completed during this time. However, we realize it may be impossible for a few people to pickup their packet at the official times. We will have limited packet pickup the morning of the race. You do not need to notify the Race Director if you need to pick up your packet on race day.

Q. Will there be a place to leave a drop bag for the race?
A. Yes, details HERE.

Q. Where can I park on race day?
A. Race day parking is available on most Claremont Village streets other than 1st Street. Parking is not permitted on the course and the Metrolink parking lot on 1st Street is closed from 5:30AM to 10AM.

Q. When will the race results be posted?
A. Usually the same day on our website, barring unforeseen acts of providence.

Q. How are runner times tracked?
A. Each 5K bib has a timing chip on the back. Individual times start when the runner crosses the start line and ends when they cross the finish line. The 1K Kids Fun Run is not timed.

Q. Does this race award a medal to finishers of the 1K Fun Run? What about the 5K Run/Walk?
A. Everyone in the 1K Kids Fun Run receives a finishers medal. All participants in the 5K Run get a race shirt but not a participation medal.

Q. Are there overall awards for the 5K?
A. Yes! Trophies are awarded to the top male and top female overall finishers. Gold, silver, and bronze medals are awarded to the top 3 male and top 3 female finishers in each age division. Age divisions are <10, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, etc.
