Sweeper Medium Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Run or cycle at the end of the race, following all runners safely to the finish. Please arrive by 8:30 am.

Set-Up Help Medium Priority

Details

Arrive early to set up signs, timing mat, clocks and race area. Please arrive by 6:00 am.

Clean Up Help High Priority

April 27, 2024

Details

Help clear signs, store equipment and remove trash from the race site. Please arrive by 8:45 am - and run the race!

Equipment pick up includes race timing mats, timing clocks, cones, vests, flags, and signage. Please stay to assist in removing tables, chairs, and the picking up any garbage from the finish and refeshment area.

Refreshment Table Medium Priority

Details

Hand out snacks and drinks after the race. Monitor and help collect refreshment containers, water bottles, etc. and encourage runners to pick up after themselves.

There will be two groups of racers; children from the 1K fun run, and everyone else from the 10K run. Please arrive by 8:30 am.

Near the Finish line, WB&A trail, adjacent to the Glenn Dale Splash Pool parking lot.

Water Stop Help High Priority

This volunteer task is full.

Details

Hand out cups of water to runners as they pass your station.
You will see runners as they pass you AND as they return along the same course (at the 2-mile and 4-mile marks of the course). Be prepared to provide water to runners going in both directions.
Water stop volunteers ALSO act as Course Marshals, keeping runners on the race course moving in the right direction.

Location

At the 2 mile mark of the Springburst 10K race course. (This is also the 4-mile mark, since the race is a loop.)
