Join the SIUE Alumni Association for the eighth annual Cougars Unleashed Homecoming Run as part of Celebrate Cougar Nation: SIUE Homecoming and Family Weekend. Named the Final Lap Race Management's Best Directed event in 2022, this year's run offers both in-person and virtual 10K, 5K and one-mile runs. Community members, students and alumni are encouraged to participate. Run proceeds will go to the SIUE Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, which proudly awards over $20,000 each year to incoming and current SIUE students. Your support will help our campus community define the future of SIUE.

Want to join us on campus for the in-person Run?
- The in-person run will take place on Saturday, October 5 on the beautiful SIUE campus with start and finish location in the SIUE Stratton Quad.
- The first run will begin at 9 a.m
- All registered in-person runners will receive a complimentary pancake breakfast from Chris Cakes, post-run beer from Global Brew (runners 21 and over).
Need to run virtually?
- The virtual run can be completed anytime and anywhere between October 1-6.
- Register for a virtual 10K, 5K or 1 mile and invite your friends to join!
- Run/walk the distance inside on your treadmill or outside on a course of your choosing anytime between October 1-6.
- Report your time using the special link that is emailed to you after you register.
- Send a run selfie to siuealumni@siue.edu to be featured in a post-event video montage.

Run Bags, Photos and Award Information
Run Bag Pick-Up
- All registrants, including those who made an online store purchase on or before September 15 can pick up their items at Birger Hall on the SIUE campus
- Contact us with any questions or concerns.
Pictures and Selfies
- We would love to see any/all selfies that you take during the virtual run. Post and tag any photos you post on your social media accounts with #CougarsUnleashed
- Please email your photos to us so we can include them in a run photo montage that will be shared after the run is complete.
Awards
- Medals will be awarded to the top male and female 10K/5K in-person finishers as well as the top two male and female runners in the following age divisions: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60+
- Medals will also be awarded to the top times in male and female divisions for the virtual 10K and 5K. Winners will be contacted after the run to coordinate medal pick-up.
