Join the fun and help support the NTB Volunteer Rescue & EMS and Onslow County Parks & Rec Youth Scholarship fund!

Participants will receive a short sleeve, Dri-fit event logo t-shirt AND be entered into drawings for gift cards from some of our A-MAZ-ING sponsors! There will also be water and snacks available thanks to the generosity of our sponsors!

This non competitive, mutli sport event is a 'make your own race' and  being hosted by Spinning on Sunshine mobile fitness,  NTB Volunteer Rescue & EMS and Onslow County Parks & Rec department.  Proceeds and donations from the event will be used to purchase additional rescue equipment and to support the Youth scholarship fund.  Participants can opt in for all three legs or pick the ones they want to do!  Make it a 'race' by challenging yourself to a new personal record or take your time and enjoy the great coastal Carolina beach environment!

The first segment of the race is the 'swim' course.  A 400 meter ( 200 out and 200 back) course will be marked with buoys. Participants will have the option of swimming the course using any stroke, float method they choose.  Non swimmers may choose to opt out of the segment or wade out and ride the waves back from any point.  NTB Fire / rescue personnel will be on the beach and in the water to ensure swimmer safety.  If you've ever wanted to try an open water swim, this is the perfect chance!!

After completing the swim portion,  participants will rinse off using the outdoor shower heads on the beach access deck area,  towel off, retrieve their shoes and proceed down the stairs  to the Cycle tent.

The spin cycle session will consist of a 10 mile on a Keiser M3i stationary cycle.  Volunteer staff will assist each rider with proper fitting and riding instructions.  Participants have the option to shorten or by pass this segment, if they choose.  Note: Riders are required to be at least 14 years of age and 4'9" to participate in the cycle segment.

After completing the cycle segment,  participants will proceed to the 2.8 mile walk/jog/run leg of the event. The course is 1.4 miles out and 1.4 back. Participants may choose to shorten or bypass the segment.

Aid / hydration stations will be available near the cycle tent and on the run/jog/walk course.

Unlike traditional Triathlons, this event is a ‘for fun’ Try a Tri / Do a Du or make your own race, encouraging participation from a broad range of members of the community.  The event parameters allow participants of varying levels of fitness in each discipline to successfully complete each segment. Participants can opt to participate in 1, 2 or all 3 fitness challenges.

NTB Volunteer Fire Department will be providing EMS/Ocean rescue for this event. Local volunteers from the community will be assisting in various support roles to help 'racers' transition safely from one segment to the next!

The event will not have monetary or placement awards but does allow each participant to have an awesome, fun, fitness experience ‘racing ’at their individual skill level. This provides the opportunity for personal goal accomplishments, self-achievement and confidence building while contributing to and supporting the local community for lifesaving/rescue equipment and youth scholarship program.
